Brownian dynamics simulations of polymer stretching and transport in a complex electroosmotic flow

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Brownian dynamics simulations of a DNA molecule in the electroosmotic flow were performed. This allows to assess the effectiveness of these flows in stretching polymers, and to probe the aforementioned issues of polymer dynamics in flows with an inhomogeneous velocity gradient and the competition between electrophoresis and electroosmosis. This paper aims to use Brownian dynamics simulations to study the stretching and transport of DNA in a complex electroosmotic flow that can be generated in a microfluidic device.
