Abstract

Three areas of eating disorders research were reviewed. First, advances in the conceptualization of body image and its measurement were considered. Second, studies examining the relationship of psychiatric comorbidity and the eating disorders were reviewed. Third, psychobiological processes that may increase risk of developing or maintaining an eating disorder or represent medical complications of an eating disorder continue to be an important research topic.
