Abstract
Trauma remains one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Over the past two decades, management of blunt abdominal trauma has shifted to non-operative management. Improvements in accuracy and efficacy of imaging modalities, such as advanced computerized tomography (CT) scan, have contributed to this paradigm shift in the management of solid and hollow-organ abdominal injuries. This chapter focuses on the imaging modalities used to guide management in blunt injuries to the liver, spleen, pancreas, hollow viscus injury to the stomach or intestine, and pelvic organs.
