Biofluid mechanics of intramedullary reaming

A theoretical model of fluid flow during intramedullary reaming that predict reamer design parameters and operative technique that result in increased intramedullary pressures has been developed. The model is compared with experimental data for verification. It is shown the model directly determines the intramedullary pressure by the reamer design through the mean diameter and gap.
