N2 - We thank Braver and Duncan, and also Khouri and Pariente, for their comments about Table 4.1 The online version of the article initially available was an unproofed version. The final proofed version (submitted August 14 and available online October 31, 2023) correctly states in the Results and Discussion that there was no significant association between dementia risk and PPI use when H2RAs are used as an active comparator for both cumulative and current exposure. We agree that the results of the main analysis may be due to unmeasured confounders; we describe this possible limitation in the Discussion.
