Abstract

The anomaly-free, minimum-norm, and variational least squares methods for algebraic variational inelastic quantum mechanical scattering calculations are all applied to the same example. The zero-order variational least squares method, which is completely free of spurious singularities, is found to be an accurate and useful method. Some alternative versions of the variational least squares method are pointed out.
