Abstract

A planar eight-bar linkage is synthesized to move a base through five specified positions under an inserting head corresponding to five equally-spaced angles of the input crank. After an eight bar linkage is found, an analysis program is used to compute transmission angles for incremental rotations of the input crank. This linkage has a minimum transmission angle of 27 degree and a maximum link-link ratio of 9. 5.
