Abstract
Oxidation of methyl linoleate supported on microcrystalline cellulose showed anomalous effects when humidified to Aw = 0.62. The highly catalytic effect was shown to be due to diffusion of dinitrogen trioxide formed in the saturated NaNO2 solution through the vapor space into the samples.
