Anomalous dispersion of longitudinal optical phonons in Nd1.86Ce0.14CuO4+δ determined by inelastic X-ray scattering

Phonon dispersion in n-type cuprates Nd1.86Ce0.14CuO4+δ (NCCO) was analysed using inelastic x-ray scattering technique. This technique helps to overcome the need for large single crystals of high chemical and structural quality. Results showed that there is anomalous softening in the electron-doped cuprates as was found earlier in the hole-doped compounds.
