Abstract
An indoor facility capable of studying soil erosion on a 2.4-m × 9.8-m (8- × 32-foot) surface is described. Image-processing techniques were used to measure erosion characteristics. The facility has been used to study the dynamic changes in rill characteristics and to evaluate the drainage network of rills. This system is unique in its capabilities to gather detailed and accurate erosion data on a large, indoor surface. -Authors
