Abstract
This paper demonstrates one of the first implementations of wireless servo control for mechanical systems. The novel elimination of the physical connection between the controller and the system can facilitate less restrictive hardware layout designs in many control systems. In this work, a low-cost wireless servo system was successfully created and tested using embedded microcontrollers and radio frequency communication hardware. In preliminary testing, the system showed good response for a DC motor controlled with simple feedback algorithms running with approximately a 30Hz sample rate.
