Abstract

Two investigations and considerable clinical lore suggest that alcohol use may be associated with unusual susceptibility to infection with Hemophilus influenzae, type b (HIB). This paper reports experiments designed to determine the effect of alcohol ingestion on some parameters of host defense against this organism.
