Abstract

Biomass gasification is one of the common biomass conversion technologies. Tar produced in the process, not only can reduce gasification gas utilization value, but also has great harmfulness on gasification equipment, people and animals. In this paper, based on the features of tar, tar control methods are discussed as follows: the tar absorption separation method, the mechanical/physical methods such as the scrubber, cyclone separation, pyrolysis method such as catalytic cracking and high temperature pyrolysis tar, condition control method and the operation parameter method.compared the several methods, the advantages and disadvantages of different tar processing methods and engineering application are points out in the end.
