Abstract
Acidity, specific conductivity and calcium concentration have been estimated for several series of fen and bog waters, with seventy samples from the English Lake District and twenty-two from Scotland. An attempt has been made to correlate vegetation types and water chemistry, with special reference to the conditions under which Sphagnum carpets may become established.
