Abstract

Administration of diethylstilbestrol, diethylstilbestrol diphosphate, testosterone propionate and 17 alpha-hydroxyprogesterone-n-caproate did not alter the urinary excretion values for coproporphyrin, uroporphyrin, porphobilinogen and delta aminolevulinic acid in nonporphyric subjects. In 1 patient with latent porphyria a slight increase of δ-ALA was observed after diethylstilbestrol but PBG and porphyrin excretion were unaffected. This individual had received stilbestrol previously over a 2 year period.
