Abstract
A method of measuring amylase secretion from dispersed pancreatic acini is described that utilizes a 20-fi.m nylon mesh to separate cell-associated from secreted amylase. When compared with the standard centrifugation assay, the mesh technique permits easy measurement at multiple, closely spaced time points while reducing the number of samples generated and allowing rapid manipulation of the extracellular suspending medium.
