N2 - This paper presents a conceptual framework for modelling physicians' styles of practice. It also develops and estimates a causal model of practice style determination. The method allows simultaneous analysis of different practice styles and their determinants. The paper provides new insights into physician decision-making and, in particular, the positive relationship between fees and the number of physicians.
