Abstract
Experimental observation of a series of bistable regions in a string of time intervals between successive drops as a function of flow rate is presented and discussed. A quantitative one-dimensional model is proposed for various moderate flow-rate phenomena observed in a dripping faucet experiment. The existence of a series of bistable regions is explained in terms of a feedback loop in the phase angle of drops oscillating on the end of a pipette.
