Abstract
In order to evaluate if measures of DSM-5 Alternative PD Model domainspredicted interview-based scores of general personality pathology whencompared to self-report measures of DSM-IV Axis II/DSM-5 Section II PDcriteria, 300 Italian community adults were administered the Iowa PersonalityDisorder Screen (IPDS) interview, the Personality Inventory for DSM-5(PID-5), and the Personality Diagnostic Questionnaire-4+ (PDQ-4+). Multipleregression analyses showed that the five PID-5 domain scales collectivelyexplained an adequate rate of the variance of the IPDS interview total score. This result was slightly lower than the amount of variance in the IPDS totalscore explained by the 10 PDQ-4+ scales. The PID-5 traits scales performedbetter than the PDQ-4+, although the difference was marginal. Hierarchicalregression analyses revealed that the PID-5 domain and trait scales provideda moderate, but significant increase in the prediction of the general level ofpersonality pathology above and beyond the PDQ-4+ scales.
