Abstract
A recently proposed implicit scheme for tracking the filling front during liquid impregnation into porous moulds is demonstrated. A key feature in this scheme is that the filling simulation is free of the Courant criterion, i.e. within a given time step the filling front is able to move through a large number of computational cells without loss of accuracy. An animation of the filling of a two-dimensional resin transfer mould (RTM) is presented. This animation reveals the nature of 'race tracking' due to the poor distribution of permeability in the mould. (Authors)
