N2 - The Personality and Individual Differences (PAID) journal serves as a pivotal publication within the psychological community and functions as the official journal of the International Society for the Study of Individual Differences (ISSID). In response to the persistent call for action articulated by various scientific associations, authors within the field of psychological sciences confront a critical juncture, advocating for a substantive broadening of the global scope of psychological inquiry. In pursuit of this objective and under the support of ISSID, this study endeavored to investigate the nationalities of corresponding authors who have contributed to PAID from 2020 to 2023, with a specific focus on the systematic mapping and potential identification of prevailing patterns in submitted manuscripts. Consistent with anticipated outcomes and corroborated by existing literature, our findings revealed an underrepresentation of countries situated outside the North America-Europe geographic zone. A comprehensive approach to rectifying the current representation within psychological research involves not only the diversification of study participants but also a purposeful augmentation of representation among authors, particularly those hailing from historically underrepresented communities.
