Abstract
In the title compound, C4H5N3, the nearly planar 5-amino-pyrimidine molecule has twofold rotation symmetry. The crystal structure is stabilized by a hydrogen bond between the amino group and the ring N atoms, thus forming a two-dimensional network parallel to the ab plane.
