Project Details
Description
This grant contributed to the Tretter Transgender Oral History Project (TTOHP), collecting and archiving the voices of transgender and gender queer people in the Upper Midwest. The TTOHP, funded largely with a gift from Tawani Foundation, is a 3 year project with a goal of 200+ interviews, 300+ hours of content, full transcription of the content, and an online exhibit. Support from Headwaters Foundation for Justice was requested to support additional travel and outreach to help gather content from those outside of large metropolitan areas, thus adding to the diversity of voices from the transgender/gender queer community.
