Toward Culturally Enriched Communities – Design interventions for covid-19 and social justice

Project: Internal Grant

Project Details

Description

As the Twin Cities became the global epicenter for racial justice following the death of George Floyd, we were once again confronted with Minnesota’s disparities in health, income, education, death, and incarceration--the pandemic’s disproportionate impact on communities of color has already exposed these inequities. This project contributes to “Sustainable Development Goal 10 – Reduce inequality within and among countries” through: 1) disseminating environmental interventions to the pandemic from around the world, and 2) sharing the stories of Twin Cities’ communities through buildings where protests occurred, elaborating on how the built environment can pave the way for social and racial justice.
