Building community collaborations: Stimulating interdisciplinary research around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Duluth

Project: Internal Grant

Project Details

Description

We will assemble panels to discuss community issues around the SDGs and promote regional partnerships. In order to stimulate interdisciplinary and university-community collaboration, we built a campus “Sustainability Portal” that features scholarship, courses, and research related to the 17 SDGs (beta version https://maps.umn.edu/d_sust_port/agis_js/july.html). We also compiled a comprehensive list of community partners with whom we can engage around these issues (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vVjszbBxx6F93jy8505g5o8aL86xRrRp333FMt2306U/edit?usp=sharing). The next step is to aggregate diverse stakeholders around the SDGs to assess the state of our community, share information, and spark action (84)
