Description
Objective 1: Initiate relationships with local community of Black men with type 2 diabetes and clinicians who serve them.
Outcome 1: Build long-term working relationships with Black men to promote ongoing communication research to reduce disparities around type 2 diabetes.
Objective 2: Conduct in-depth interviews with Black men with type 2 diabetes and clinicians to characterize applicability of mobile/smartphone (mHealth) interventions to promote self-management and patient activation.
Outcome 2: Use interview data to characterize participant attitudes and beliefs about mHealth interventions to inform authentic self-management and patient activation around type 2 diabetes.
