A. Marilyn Sime Faculty Research Fellowship Program

Prize: Fellowship awarded competitively

Description

The A. Marilyn Sime Faculty Research Fellowship was created to support faculty who are committed to conducting research in the field of integrative health and medicine. In creating the fellowship, Dr. Sime understood that:

Integrative Health and Medicine is a relatively new area of inquiry.
Federal funding is limited and competitive.
To successfully compete for federal funding, preliminary or pilot data is generally required.

The intent is to provide protected time up to .50 for a period of 2 years with the hope that by the end of the fellowship, extramural funding will have been attained to sustain the fellow’s research trajectory. This innovative program is based on a strategy of identifying and investing in faculty with high potential for developing successful research careers. Fellows hold an appointment within the Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality & Healing as well as their home department, if applicable. Center faculty as well as other University of Minnesota tenure and tenure-track faculty are eligible to apply. Non-tenure track faculty will also be considered.
