Professional Information

Stephen Monson Geerts is a Research Fellow within the Economic Geology Group of the Center for Applied Research and Technology Development (CARTD). He currently heads the Particle and Mineral Characterization Division within the group and has over 25 years of applied research experience in northeastern Minnesota with igneous geology and petrography of economic deposits (NorthMet) within the Duluth Complex; mineral particulate matter characterization related to the taconite industry; and hydrogeologic and environmental experience with mineland reclamation and drainage. He is also a Registered Professional Geologist in the state of Minnesota.
