Research interests

Sarah Schieck Boelke is a Swine Extension Educator at the University of Minnesota.  She is based in Willmar, MN at the U of Mn Regional Extension Office.  Her responsibilities include serving as a Pork Quality Assurance Plus Trainer and Transport Quality Assurance Advisor, coordinating the SowBridge and PorkBridge distant education programs, and providing a variety of other research-based education to pork producers in Minnesota. 

She received her bachelor’s degree in science in agriculture, as well as her master’s in animal science with an emphasis in swine nutrition from the University of Minnesota. 

Sarah grew up on a farrow-to-finish pig farm, which she took an active part in.  Prior to coming to the University of Minnesota Extension, Sarah was an instructor in the Agriculture Department at Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN.  There she taught a variety of animal science-related classes.
