Personal profile

Lisa Hinz has been an Extension Educator since 1996, focusing on helping communities and public-serving organizations and groups work more effectively together to better address public issues. Her expertise includes leadership styles, facilitation, team building, using strengths and assets to strengthen community, and effective group and community involvement processes.

Among Lisa’s projects are leadership of the Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts Leadership Program, Growing Your Facilitation Skills online course, and Coming Together for Racial Understanding dialogue series.   

Prior to Extension, Lisa worked on organizational research and development and in nonprofit administration. Her research work contributed to the book Sustaining Innovation: Creating Nonprofit and Government Organizations that Innovate Naturally (1998) by Paul Light.

Certifications and Licenses

She is a certified administrator of the EQ-I 2.0/EQ 360 and certified trainer of  Pew Foundation’s Leadershipplenty curriculum and the Study Circles programs designed through Everyday Democracy.
