My Masters, Doctoral, and Post-doctoral training have focused on using genetic, cell biology, structural biology, and metabolic approaches to understand cancer progression. I received my Masters and Doctoral training at University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and at University of Illinois at Chicago in USA, where I studied metabolic reprogramming mechanisms in cancer cells. Currently, I am conducting my post-doctoral research at University of Minnesota, Hormel Institute. I am particularly interested in the mitochondrial function and biogenesis.
