Personal profile

Personal profile

I am a Mexican decision scientist and since September 2018, I am a Post-Doctoral Associate in health decision sciences in the Division of Health Policy and Management at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. I work developing and applying new methods in simulation modeling, decision sciences and cost-effectiveness analysis. In particular, I particpate in the CISNET consortium as part of Dr. Karen M. Kuntz's colorectal cancer team and Dr. Shalini Kulasingam's cervival cancer team. I also collaborate with Dr. Katy B. Kozhimannil evaluating the cost-effectiveness of midwife-led care for low risk pregnancies in the US. In addition, I teach workshops and short courses on the use of R for decision modeling in national and international venues.

In summer 2017, I obtained my doctoral degree in Health Decision Sciences. I earned my master’s degree in Economics from the Center for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE) and my bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Metropolitan Autonomous University (UAM), both in Mexico City.

I grew up in Mexico City and moved to the Twin Cities, MN, to study my doctoral degree.
