Research interests

Prior to transitioning to higher education administration to focus her efforts on the professional development of early career scientists, creating inclusive environments by increasing underrepresented minorities in STEM through managing undergraduate research training programs and K-12 outreach, Dr. Watt conducted biomedical research in the fields of cancer development and DNA replication, specifically how chemicals in the environment may damage DNA causing mutations that could ultimately lead to lung cancer.
