Personal profile
Dr. Christopher Streib currently serves as the Cerebrovascular Director for M Health Fairview and the Stroke Division Director at the University of Minnesota. He has led the unification of cerebrovascular care across M Health Fairview, establishing the highest standards in emergent stroke treatment, diagnostic evaluation, secondary prevention, and recovery throughout the health system. His efforts focus on innovative stroke systems of care to address persistent healthcare disparities and expand access to expert stroke treatment, most notably through the implementation of a novel inpatient telestroke program and advanced diagnostic stroke evaluation, including cardiac CT angiography. His work has resulted in high-impact publications and external grant funding.
Dr. Streib has been recognized for his clinical excellence and commitment to education. He served as the Vascular Neurology Fellowship Director from 2016 to July 2025. In 2022, he founded the University of Minnesota Stroke Research Lab , which he currently co-directs. Dr. Streib is an expert in the integration of clinical research and clinical care, a focus that allows him to advance stroke treatment for his patients on a daily basis. In this capacity, he advises and collaborates with the NIH and private industry on clinical trial implementation.
