I've been interested in bringing to light the contributions of Portuguese women writers and feminist thinkers to colonial, anti and postcolonial discourses, with an emphasis on questioning the commonplaces surrounding ‘race’ in Portuguese or, Lusotropicalism.  More recently, I'm pursuing a comparative project on post-empires, economic crisis and culture in European peripheries.
