Organization profile

The Natural Resources Research Institute was established by the Minnesota Legislature in 1983 as part of the University of Minnesota Duluth. This unique applied research organization provides non-partial, science-based data, information and tools to use Minnesota's natural resources for efficient and sustainable economic development. NRRI focuses on minimizing waste and environmental impact; maximizing value from resources; and maintaining/restoring ecosystem function. NRRI also supports entrepreneurial business ventures with technical expertise.
