The Upper Midwest Jewish Archives houses materials documenting the lives of Jewish communities in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and western Wisconsin. Collections in the Upper Midwest Jewish Archives are open to the public and accessible at Elmer L. Andersen Library, part of Archives and Special Collections at the University of Minnesota Libraries.
The collections document the activities of Upper Midwest Jewish communities in creating and supporting ethnic and religious communities and advocacy organizations, as well as their efforts to promote social welfare and social justice. Materials include institutional administrative records, synagogue records, rabbi personal papers, family papers, correspondence, personal publications, scrapbooks, moving images and photographs.
